Our Story

Once upon a time, in a world filled with chance encounters and unexpected twists, two souls found themselves on a collision course toward something beautiful. This is the story of how Sydnee and Andrew met, a tale that embodies the essence of love, laughter, and a touch of serendipity.

It all began on a fateful day when the rain poured down upon the city of Los Angeles like a symphony of tiny water droplets. January 13th marked their first encounter, and the stage was set at Thunderbird Bar. After hours of effortless conversation, chivalrous Andrew tried to make a strong first impression by offering to drive Sydnee home in the rain amidst the wet chaos. However, Sydnee, not fully trusting Andrew yet (after all, she had just met him), hesitated, and opted to walk home alone instead. She didn’t bring an umbrella and got drenched! Little did she know that this decision would play a significant role in the early chapters of their love story. Before she made it back to her doorstep, Andrew had already contacted her asking for another date. He was a straight shooter that knew what he wanted. From that moment on, Andrew always asked “When can I see you again?” during their time together, never playing games or making Sydnee doubt his interest.

As destiny sang its tune, their connection blossomed. They took things slow, savoring each moment, and tiptoeing around the initial sparks of attraction. It wasn't until the fifth date that their lips finally met, igniting fireworks within their hearts. But alas, even this magical moment was short-lived, as Andrew's Uber arrived within seconds of their first kiss starting! Sydnee, wanting to keep the flames of mystery alive a little longer, waved him off despite his best efforts to stay.

Valentine's Day marked a pivotal turn in their story. Sydnee, determined to create a memorable evening, scattered fake rose petals all over her apartment, despite her friends' warnings that it would definitely scare Andrew away. But to her delight, he adored the romantic gesture and asked her out on another date. At that moment, they knew this was something truly special.

Music became the soundtrack of their love. They bonded over their shared interest in artists, occasionally engaging in 1:1 slow dances to the sweet tunes seeping from vinyl records. Concerts became their muse with regular visits to the Wiltern and local underground venues, where they swayed and laughed, creating memories that would forever hold a place in their hearts. The importance of family became evident as their relationships with their loved ones were always prioritized and blended seamlessly. Then one day, the most beautiful Bernedoodle named Rufus was added to the mix changing their lives forever for the better. With each passing day, their love for one another grew.

In the picturesque mountains of Boulder, Colorado, Andrew uttered the words that would forever echo in their souls. Amidst the towering presence of the Flatirons, he whispered, "I’m in love with you," and Sydnee's heart soared. They share a passion for hiking, and this moment amidst nature's marvels was a testament to the adventures they dreamed of embarking upon together. Their goal crystallized, when taking a cross-country road trip together driven by a vow to visit every national park, their love deepening with each trail they conquered. To date they’ve checked off Olympic, Yellowstone, Zion, Rocky Mountains, Grand Tetons, Bryce, Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Lassen Volcanic, Shenandoah, Smoky Mountains, and Badlands, to name just a few…

Then, in the enchanting month of April 2023, the stage was set for the ultimate climax. On the sandy shores of a secluded Maldivian beach, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Andrew knelt on one knee holding a ring, glistening like a star in the twilight sky. This time, the rose petals were real, creating a magical path towards a future intertwined with forever. With tears of joy streaming down her cheeks, Sydnee said yes, knowing confidently this was the easiest decision she ever made.
